indoor soccer

WCSA offers indoor soccer in the winter for ages U9-U19 and in the summer for ages U8-U19. Early winter is boys only, late winter is girls only, and summer is both boys and girls. Boys and girls play on separate teams - no coed. In the winter, the top team in each age division receives champion t-shirts (no tournament). In the summer, all teams play in a tournament at the end of the season (weather and time permitting) with the top team in each age division receiving champion t-shirts.

Players that have graduated high school are ineligible to play for WCSA.

After a comprehensive review and collaborative discussions, US Youth Soccer, AYSO, and US Club Soccer have agreed to adopt a unified age group player formation cycle that will run from August 1 to July 31, beginning with the 2026–2027 season. This change is intended to better align player groupings with school-grade peers, supporting a more consistent and developmentally appropriate experience for youth participants.

Travel Player Limits & Disclosure

WCSA is a recreational league and welcomes all players, however there is a limit to the number of travel players allowed per team. Travel players also include academy players.

Placement for travel players is NOT guaranteed. Travel players not able to be placed on a team due to the limit will be notified through bulk email, and refunds can be requested via email as outlined in WCSA's Refund Policy located under the Parents tab.

Failure to accurately disclose travel player status on the registration form will result in dismissal from the selected WCSA program without refund. Any team whose roster is found to include more than the limit of travel players allowed for that age division due to inaccurate disclosure of travel player status on the registration form will forfeit all games in which the offending travel player(s) participated. Visit our Parents' FAQ page under the Parents tab for a definition of 'travel player.'

U8-U11: 2 travel players maximum per team

U12-U19: 3 travel players maximum per team

Practice

Practices are limited based on time availability and coordinated by coach request. Teams may only have one practice prior to the season starting. There are no practices during the season.

Rule Updates

There has been a change in the rules to implement the first yellow line as a build-out line for our U8-U10 age groups in indoor beginning in the summer 2026 season. This rule applies when the goalkeeper has possession in their hands or during a goal kick.

The defending team will be required to retreat to the first yellow line before a countdown for the goalkeeper's possession begins. This change is intended to benefit the younger players, who often struggle with limited space and their developing ability to strike the ball accurately and consistently when the keeper has possession.

The motion regarding the new rule was proposed and unanimously approved by the Board. There were no opposing votes. This new rule will officially take effect starting with the Summer 2026 Indoor Season.
